We're seeking an Application Software Developer III to join our team and craft innovative solutions for the University. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to design, develop, and enhance applications while collaborating with a dynamic team of professionals.
Position Details:
Start Date: Estimated July 1, 2024
Work Arrangement: Fully remote, with occasional meetings on campus in Oxford, Ohio. Please note, remote work arrangements are subject to change at the discretion of Miami University.
Duties and Responsibilities:
As an Application Software Developer, you'll:
Design and implement integration solutions to facilitate seamless communication between systems.
Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using object-oriented programming languages (e.g., PHP, Python, Node JS).
Utilize SQL to query databases and manage database objects effectively.
Contribute to UI design utilizing front-end technologies like HTML and CSS.
Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and design solutions that meet user needs.
Work with APIs for system integration, including configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.
Ensure system scalability, performance, and integrity throughout the development process.
Provide post-deployment support and maintenance for software code and integration solutions.
Foster collaboration with team members, business analysts, and end-users to deliver optimal solutions.
Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information technology, STEM, or related field.
Minimum of three years of relevant professional experience.
Desired Qualifications:
Ideal candidates may possess:
Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks.
Experience with data mapping and transformation solutions.
Familiarity with web services and APIs.
Strong database skills, including SQL proficiency.
Knowledge of integration patterns and tools.
Understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
Familiarity with various testing methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving abilities.
Commitment to writing efficient and secure code.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $ 59,000.00 140,000.00 Per Year
