A successful candidate should have a great understanding of the fundamentals of animation and how they relate to game animation and the ability to implement animations in the Unreal Engine. Proficiency in animation blueprints is a plus.In this role, you willLead a growing team of animators, helping mentor and drive the style and feel of Fortnite's animationTake animation from initial concept through implementation in Unreal EngineCreate character specific animations in Maya using our in-house rigs and toolsWork closely with the individual Epic Art Leads, and artists on the team, to ensure downstream depts have all the information they need when launchedEnsure animation assets are delivered and shipped successfully and on timeBe a point of contact for bug support, triage, and resolution of animation assetsWhat we're looking forYou have an animation reel showing key-framed character and creature animationsStrong experience with Maya and gameplay systemsGood instincts for realistic and stylized motionsStrong communication and leadership skillsFamiliarity with the Unreal Engine 4 art pipelineRelated skills, such as modeling, skinning, riggingExperience working with mocap dataExperience having shipped at least one titleUser-focused, passionate, scrappy, solutions-focused, and innovative.
