Alumni Outreach Manager Location Hybrid remote in Tempe, AZ : Alumni Outreach Manager The ASU Outreach Hub is dedicated to connecting more constituents in impactful ways using data-derived insights, integrated and collaborative approaches and advanced outreach techniques in support of the ASU Public Enterprise. The Manager, Alumni Outreach partners with stakeholders across the ASU Enterprise to increase alumni engagement through a variety of programs and experiences aimed at engaging alumni in meaningful and measurable ways. The Manager, Alumni Outreach supports a data-driven culture of knowledge, support, and action and plays a critical role in the execution of effective alumni engagement strategies and best practices. This role will seek to increase alumni involvement and affinity and promote life-long connections, leading to a growing number of alumni that donate to support ASU programs, refer future students, enroll in learning opportunities, and/or continue to engage with ASU in increasing ways. What you'll do: Utilizes acquired knowledge and insights to promote the voice of ASU alumni in planning and outreach efforts Partners with Strategic Insights and Analytics colleagues to understand alumni interests, evaluate engagement efforts, and implement updated strategies Assists with alumni engagement reports and insights; shares performance reporting with key stakeholders in partnership with Alumni Engagement and Technology and Solutions colleagues Supports academic units and select stakeholders in execution of effective alumni engagement strategies, including but not limited to the sharing of knowledge and insights, best practices, and partnership for outreach efforts Contributes to the development and execution of alumni marketing and engagement plans in partnership with Marketing Solutions colleagues Serves as lead with external partners for affinity-related engagement campaigns Manages vendor relationships and programs designed to increase engagement and enrich alumni profiles Assists in the creation and execution of outreach efforts to lapsed alumni to re-engage in activities of interest Serves as project lead for select alumni engagement efforts, including establishing objectives, potential deliverables, and desired timelines Leads development and execution of new ASU graduate engagement plans, including Graduation Fairs and communication plans to new graduates in alignment with academic unit and key stakeholder efforts Collaborates on efforts to increase knowledge of alumni interests and gain updated contact information using surveys, focus groups, pilot programs, and other tools Enacts the support of an internal Alumni Success Network of alumni engagement colleagues to foster community and share best practices, insights, and enterprise standards Participates in established communities, networking events, and training forums such as the Brand Academy and summer camps to share effective strategies, tools, and gain industry knowledge Supports development and execution of an engagement plan for online-only alumni in partnership with EdPlus Contributes to the strategy and evolution of digital engagement offerings that serve alumni to include alumni.asu.edu, other alumni-serving sites, and platforms Supports coordinated outreach and engagement efforts in California, Texas, and select top alumni markets in partnership with Brand Management, Media Relations, ASU Foundation, Alumni Association and other stakeholders Leads annual strategy for Pitchfork Plates, ASU's license plate program that promotes pride and affinity on vehicles across Arizona and select other markets Acts as liaison for Pitchfork Plates to the Arizona Department of Transportation and other state agencies as necessary to support annual processes and explore expansion opportunities Maintains knowledge of industry-leading alumni engagement practices through the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), other reputable advancement organizations, and collaboration with peer universities Hires, motivates, develops, and retains a high-performance team Oversees the day-to-day management of the Alumni Outreach team, including any student workers, and provides additional leadership support and training as needed Responsible for the performance management of direct reports; regularly conducts 1:1 meetings, and provides professional development opportunities as needed What you'll need: Able to use knowledge and insights to support strategic decision-making Adept at developing stakeholder confidence, effective collaboration practices, and mitigating conflict Experience in leading teams to achieve desired outcomes Aptitude to articulate deliverables, objectives, results, and outcomes Ability to clarify roles and responsibilities to ensure understanding of expectations Capable of working on multiple projects at one time while staying flexible among changing priorities Comfortable operating in established project management system and workflow processes Capacity to quickly learn new tools and technologies Capable of fostering cooperative work-teams by developing mutually beneficial relationships Skilled in applying data analytics and insights to support strategy development Skilled in creating and delivering presentations to senior stakeholders Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing assigned duties with consistent follow through Ability to present consistent messaging, communications, and efforts designed to build and foster strong stakeholder support and awareness of the alumni, university, and all its associated organizations Knowledge of management of supervisory principles and practices Knowledge and skill in the use of software related to marketing communications Ability to communicate effectively in person, writing, and by phone Ability to work both independently and as part of a team Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and responsibility regarding information related to ASUEP, its Subsidiaries, University Business, and confidential Prospect information Required Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business or related field Five (5) years of related administrative experience, which includes two (2) years of supervisory experience in a cross-functional team environment OR any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities have been achieved Experience developing affinity marketing, engagement, or outreach strategies Preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Communications Benefits: Hybrid work schedule.
