Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking an AI Developer/Engineer to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site. The  AI Developer/Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing artificial intelligence solutions to solve complex problems and enhance our products and services.
Algorithm Development / Use: Utilize custom or pre-developed algorithms for machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, or other AI-related applications. Model Training and Evaluation: Train, fine-tune, and evaluate machine learning models using various datasets to ensure optimal performance and accuracy. Software Development: Implement AI solutions into scalable and production-ready software systems. Data Processing and Analysis: Pre-process and analyze large datasets to extract meaningful insights and features for training AI models. Filter and prepare data for use in the data analysis process. Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, production personnel, and engineers to understand requirements and deliver AI-powered solutions that meet business objectives. Research and Innovation: Stay updated on the latest advancements in AI technologies and methodologies, and proactively research and experiment with new techniques to improve our AI capabilities. Performance Optimization: Optimize algorithms and models for performance, scalability, and efficiency, considering factors such as speed, memory usage, and computational resources. Documentation and Reporting: Document algorithms, methodologies, and implementation details thoroughly, and provide regular reports and updates on project progress and results. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or closely related field from an accredited college or university Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++ Experience with machine learning libraries/frameworks Additional Information:
Candidate(s) selected to receive an offer will be offered the position level commensurate with their education, experience, and qualifications. Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or closely related field from an accredited college or university Experience with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) Understanding of machine learning, deep learning, and AI fundamentals Familiarity with software development best practices and version control systems Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking Excellent communication and collaboration abilities Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC), a prime contractor for the US Department of Energy, is responsible for managing the Department of Energy's Savannah River Site's Liquid Waste operations contract. Located in Aiken, South Carolina, SRMC is a limited liability company formed by nuclear operations and environmental remediation global leaders BWXT, Amentum, and Fluor. The SRMC Team is responsible for the closure of waste tanks, the operation of the Savannah River Site's Defense Waste Processing Facility, tank farm operations and associated production and disposal facilities.
