Located in the Arbor Heights neighborhood of West Seattle, Westside serves 400 students in preschool through eighth grade. 34% of our student body are Black, Indigenous, and People of Color. Westside's administrative team supports the mission and work of the school and its constituents.
Westside is in search of an individual to join our Advancement Team as an Advancement Associate. Reporting to the Director of Advancement, the Advancement Associate will be responsible for coordinating Westside's two major fundraising events, the Fall Westside School Fund and Annual Spring Auction, managing fundraising data, development research and reports, donor stewardship, liaison to the school's family association, and  coordinating alumni events. We are seeking a candidate who is able to support the school's focus on diversity and inclusion and who has a background that demonstrates an understanding and appreciation of intercultural fluency.
Reports to: Director of Advancement
Responsibilities include: Uphold the school's mission, vision and values. Help perpetuate a school-wide culture characterized by highly engaged students and faculty, high expectations, joyful learning, personal wellness and a strong sense of community. ? Support the Advancement Team in growing enrollment and achieving development goals. Track gifts, consolidating with business office and reporting Take a lead role in the Westside School Fund (WSF) in partnership with Advancement Director; strategize, coordinate, implement, and report. Plan and execute the Spring Fundraising Event(s) in partnership with parent volunteers, staff, and faculty.  Fundraise for special projects; research, strategize, and support Steward donors; WSF, Spring fundraiser, birthdays, thank yous, etc. Support grant applications when needed Coordinate volunteers in conjunction with the Westside Parent Association (WPA) Serve as liaison to the Westside Family Association Track alumni and coordinate yearly alumni events QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Experience:  Bachelor's degree preferred 1-3 + years of experience working in the nonprofit sector, including coordination of fundraising events Appreciation for and commitment to independent school education and culture Early career candidates are encouraged to apply; training will be provided. Strategic thinker with a "can-do" style Detail-oriented and resourceful Ability to prioritize and manage several projects efficiently Practical experience working with and motivating volunteers  Technological Skills: Proficiency using database management software, ETapestry and Greater Giving preferred to coordinate fundraising activities.  Proficiency with technology applications such as – Word, Excel, PowerPoint Start Date: August 1, 2024 Compensation and Benefits: The compensation range, based upon experience and qualifications for this position is $62K -$72K and is based on the experience level, and credentials of the candidate.
