Job Description SummaryThe Lead Engineer- Human Factors Engineering, has responsibility for driving Human Systems Integration principles as well as design and documentation methods that maximize human performance into their assigned programs.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for understanding the interactions between humans and other elements of a system. Applies theory, principles, data, and methods within the engineering design process to assure proper interaction between products, systems, and processes and the people who use them. Human factors Engineering is also concerned with the "fit" between the user, equipment, and their environments; taking into account the user's capabilities and limitations, seeking to ensure that tasks, functions, information and the environment suit each user. ADD MaintainabilityDeveloping in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Provides informal guidance to new team membersRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or collegeMinimum of 3 years of experience in Design EngineeringDesired CharacteristicsStrong oral and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.Established project management skills.Previous experience in a Human Factors role in a shop environment or on the flight lineExperience with digital engine and anthropometric analysis toolsThis role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
