By using creative strategies to enhance the University's image, the office promotes the overall mission of North Carolina Central University to its external publics in order to solicit and acquire philanthropic support. Primary Purpose of Position The Prospect Development Analyst identifies, develops, analyzes, and maintains confidential prospect research, wealth screenings and information on prospective and existing donors to facilitate solicitation of principal, major and annual gifts from individual, corporate and foundation donors by the University's advancement team. The Analyst is responsible for identifying new and high-level prospects, as well as producing and preparing prospect research profiles, documents and briefings on individuals, corporations and foundations. The research and analysis performed by this role serve as the foundation for fundraising campaigns and directly contribute to the success of the Division of Institutional Advancement team and campaign. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong qualitative and quantitative analytical and research skills. Advanced proficiency in conducting donor research, with experience in recognizing and assessing wealth indicators and giving capacity. Knowledge and use of iWave, ResearchPoint, LexisNexis and other research tools. Experiencing using and/or creating rubrics used to create scoring models. Intermediate knowledge of donor types and understanding of fundraising processes and donor cycles. Proficiency in locating relevant information in a variety of formats: including electronic, hard copy, telephone calls, conversations with staff and volunteers, then consolidating it in a well-organized report format. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with high-level stakeholders, both internal and externally. Demonstrated adaptability and excellent planning and organizing skills, manage multiple simultaneous requests for information, and prioritize to meet deadlines. Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written). Capacity to maintain confidentiality due to sensitivity of donor information. Strong collaboration skills with colleagues, faculty and staff and demonstrated ability to effectively adapt to diverse audiences. Detail oriented and strong organizational skills. Proficient in MS Office Suite. Ability to create reports and manipulate data within Excel. Knowledge of prospect research ethics, including statements by APRA and CASE and other professional fundraising associations. Minimum Education/Experience High School Diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
