Job DescriptionThe Administrative Operations Coordinator provides administrative, faculty, and student support for the School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA), with a focus on the Urban Affairs and Planning (UAP) program, SPIA's undergraduate degree in Public and Urban Affairs (PUA), and the Master of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP). This position will support all procedural elements that contribute to converting qualified applicants to enrolled students for the PUA and MURP degree programs and serve as a backup for other degree programs within SPIA. This position will provide administrative support to UAP faculty. This position is based on the Blacksburg campus, but supports faculty, staff, and students across multiple campus sites. Also, this position will provide marketing, internal/external communications, social media of responsible degree programs, and content creation and management of all SPIA website pages. This position is responsible for providing student, student support services, and administrative support to both SPIA and UAP).The position reports directly to the Manager of SPIA Faculty and Student Affairs, and will also receive direction from the SPIA Director, UAP Program Chair, Director of SPIA Undergraduate Studies, SPIA Business Manager, and other Program Chairs as necessary.Required Qualifications•Bachelor's degree with demonstrated experience in customer service and/or other related experience•Demonstrated interest and experience in relationship building including all forms of communication and presentation with an emphasis on strong written and verbal skills•Strong proficiency in using and learning multiple software programs. simultaneously such as MS Office programs, and G-Suite programs.Preferred Qualifications•Experience in a diverse educational setting with exposure to admissions.•Experience in marketing, program promotion, content creation, and website management•Established and superior problem-solving, time management and organizational skills•Record of solutions-oriented leadership with strong follow-up ability•Ability to adapt to changing assignments and multiple priorities.•Ability to learn quickly and work in a remote environment.•Experience with learning management systems such as Canvas, Blackboard, etc.•Knowledge and experience with oracle software (Banner); adobe creative suites (for marketing materials); Zoom and Webex•Positive demeanor and strong work ethic•Ability to work independently and interpret as well as apply university and/or departmental policies and proceduresPay Band4Appointment TypeRegularSalary Information$45,000-$47,000Review DateMarch 18, 2023Additional InformationThe successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.About Virginia TechDedicated to its motto,Ut Prosim(That I May Serve), Virginia Tech pushes the boundaries of knowledge by taking a hands-on, transdisciplinary approach to preparing scholars to be leaders and problem-solvers.
