Franklin University has an opening for an Administrative Assistant to the SVP of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management. The Administrative Assistant will provide high-level administrative support to the Senior Vice President of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, assisting with strategic initiatives, planning and orchestration. Representative duties include compiling information, preparing reports, working on projects, preparing presentations, and conducting small research projects as well as drafting and sending miscellaneous professional correspondence. The selected individual will manage calendars and deadlines, ensuring the Senior Vice President is apprised of and adequately prepared for calendar commitments.  In addition, the Administrative Assistant will track and monitor budget expenditures. The assistant will also maintain sensitive information entrusted to them in a highly confidential manner and use discretion in knowing how much information to share with various constituencies.  Other duties include prioritizing deliverables, emails, etc. based on sensitivity, urgency, and importance and providing regular updates to the Senior Vice President regarding progress of initiatives and deliverables.  The assistant will take initiative to increase knowledge of the department in order to be able to anticipate needs and recommend efficiencies; work collaboratively with other Administrative Assistants throughout the University to share best practices and support the overall needs of the University; and maintain decorum by tactfully and diplomatically representing the Senior Vice President to others inside and outside the University when the SVP is unavailable. Some evening/early morning hours may be required for this position.
Requirements include 3- 5+ years of prior administrative/applicable experience; the ability to work with minimal supervision, and dependably multi-task, manage projects, and meet deadlines in a time-sensitive environment; the ability to be a critical thinker and problem solver, deal with unexpected events, make decisions and take needed action; the ability to anticipate the needs of the Senior Vice President and demonstrate flexibility and problem-solving in prioritizing and reprioritizing work as deadlines and circumstances change; having excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, while maintaining confidentiality as well as having highly developed technical competence with Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
A bachelor's degree is strongly preferred, but not required, with qualifying experience. Prior experience in higher education and being highly skilled in preparing presentations, reports, charts, and spreadsheets would be pluses in this position.
