The Missouri Department of Conservation Protection Branch is now accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant. This position will assist the Protection Branch in providing excellent customer service to external and internal stakeholders, as well as Conservation Agents and Protection Branch Leadership.
Essential Job Duties Answer phones and webmail, including answering Wildlife Code of Missouri questions. Maintain various files and databases dealing with special permit authorizations and revocation of hunting and fishing privileges. Process invoices, verify purchasing card monthly expense reports, and prepare payment vouchers. Provide oversight on agreements by ensuring projects are consistent with current fiscal year budgets and payments are processed in a timely manner. Order and sort office supplies, equipment, promotional items, and branch incoming and outgoing mail. Accept and record hotline calls received and work with the hotline rewards program. Organize and order branch awards. Support work for Protection Branch leadership . Ancillary Job Duties Distribute incoming mail and faxes and perform other general administrative tasks.  Other duties as assigned.  Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Four (4) years of progressively responsible technical experience in training, licensing or continuing education, or four (4) years of senior level secretarial experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel, Powerpoint, and Access)). Ability to travel and stay overnight occasionally. Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks. Ability to work independently. Ability to work with others in a team approach for problem solving. Ability to provide quality customer service in person and on telephone. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Work Environment Work is performed in a standard office environment. Work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with a one (1) hour lunch break. Physical Abilities Remain in a stationary position 70% or more of the time. Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery. Frequently communicate and exchange accurate information. Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less. Regularly lift up to 5 pounds, correctly lift up to 10 pounds. Concentrated attention is required at all times. Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
