Administrative Assistant / Teller
Under direct supervision responsible for delivering an exceptional client service experience and performing various administrative duties. Seeking a professional with cash-handling or teller experience preferred. This individual will be responsible for assisting our banking clients with daily transactions, as needed, and perform other bank lobby duties. They will also serve as the back-up teller and will assist with answering phones, directing calls, and greeting visitors to the branch. They will assist with conference room scheduling and maintenance and other duties as described. Interacts with partners and clients in-person, via telephone and email, responding to inquiries and providing information as requested. Responsible for executing and/or submitting various administrative and operational activities related to clients, banking products and services.
1. Responds to general office and banking inquiries
2. Executes and/or submits client account servicing requests within appropriate time frames, including but not limited to submitting wires and fund transfers, preparing required documentation, account maintenance of accurate and complete account records, imaging of documents, and researching of client issues.
3. Assists in the preparation and processing of new bank account opening documents and banking maintenance documents.
4. Fully understands and adheres to all Wealth Management Lobby Banking Operations policies and procedures as well as Risk and Compliance guidelines and procedures.
5. Assist with maintenance and servicing of Safe Deposit Boxes in office.
6. Provides assistance as directed by the Team Leader / Manager.
7. Performs various administrative duties such as preparing documents, reports for managers and other partners in the unit/department. Ensures confidentiality
8. Responsible to assist receptionist with general office admin (mail, phones, front desk, neat and tidy office, company events, ordering lunches, meeting room set up, etc)
9. Provide back up support to front office partners as well as partners in other units.
10. Schedules and coordinates meetings for partners
11. May be responsible for data input, data processing and data verification
12 .Submit payments, track or monitor expenses for the team
13. Maintains electronic and paper records
14. Develops a strong understanding of required steps involved with each request, communicating with relationship management and Client Service Support teams as appropriate to obtain necessary information to properly execute the requested activity.
15. Develops a strong knowledge of the various business applications critical to client and account servicing, including on-line tools and seeks to expand knowledge of the latest enhancements to Northern Trust partner and client technology and/or systems in order to maintain highest standards of servicing.
16. Keeps informed of new or existing Northern Trust and Wealth Management products, services and compliance requirements to respond to client questions and to assist in selling services which results in expanding the overall client relationship.
Qualifications
Experience in customer service and cash handling Strong client service skills, problem solving, and organizational skills are required to identify, research and/or resolve requests. bank teller experience preferred General knowledge of federal regulation, banking guidelines, banking operations, products and services, acquired through related work experience preferred. Ability to think critically and to work well independently and as part of a team. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Basic knowledge of office procedures is required Basic PC knowledge and typing skills are required In office
