Job Description: Founded in 1979, The Chicago School of Professional Psychology is an independent professional graduate school with a dynamic student body and a professionally accomplished faculty. Our curriculum and training opportunities prepare graduates to deliver outstanding professional services emphasizing the ability to understand and work with diverse populations.
Position Summary: The Forensic Psychology Department at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Chicago Campus is currently seeking qualified adjunct professors to teach in their M.A. Forensic Psychology: Professional Counselor Licensure Track program. Teaching opportunities may be available in fall (August – December), spring (January – April), and summer (May – July) semesters. Courses are taught in both on-ground and on-ground/blended (online with weekend intensive sessions) modalities.
We offer a wide variety of graduate-level courses in areas such as:
Broad and general counseling/clinical skills, techniques, and theories (e.g.- Clinical and Diagnostic Interviewing, Theories of Counseling and Psychotherapy, Psychopathology, etc.)
Specialized/advanced counseling/clinical theories and skills (e.g.- Trauma and Crisis Intervention, Family Systems and Family Therapy, Group Therapy, etc.)
Forensic-specific domains (e.g.- Mental Health Law, Introduction to Forensic Psychology, Forensic Documentation/Report Writing/Testifying, etc.)
Assessment (e.g. Assessment in Counseling, Research Methods, etc.)
Interested individuals should specify in their cover letter the content areas that they are most interested in teaching, the semesters and days/times that they may be available, and the preferred modality. Instructors for blended courses are required to have previous experience teaching online or will have to complete an online pedagogy course prior to teaching in this modality.

Principal Duties: The primary responsibility of adjunct faculty is to design and implement course instruction and provide evaluation of students. They must also maintain communication with department administration, faculty, and students, as well as meet deadlines.
All adjunct faculty members at The Chicago School are expected to be available and responsive to students during the course. This availability includes:
Active participation in lectures and related instructional activities (e.g., discussion forums)
Timely grading of assignments and providing detailed, quality feedback
Being available outside of regular class meetings to address student's questions and concerns.
Adjuncts will be provided master course syllabi with required or recommended course texts prior to beginning the teaching assignment. They will also be connected with a core faculty member (course lead) for onboarding and assistance throughout the semester.
Position Qualifications: Doctoral degree in related field
Teaching experience (3 years preferred)
Professional experience in area of expertise or course content
Commitment to academic excellence, service to the community, research, and diversity.

Compensation & Benefits This opportunity is budgeted at $1,124-1,540 per credit and may vary per course with student enrollment. Additional compensation factors may impact total compensation.
