Job Description Summary: The McColl School of Business at Queens University of Charlotte seeks candidates for a part-time Adjunct Faculty of Accounting for the Fall 2023 semester. Primary teaching responsibilities include introductory to intermediate courses (offered in person, during the day) in accounting for the Fall of 2023. The ability to create an environment of learning that is student-centered through effective pedagogy, active and experiential learning is desirable. This part-time Adjunct Faculty position begins in August 2023. The position reports to the Dean of the McColl School of Business.
This position is exempt from provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is not eligible to earn overtime pay or compensatory time off for additional hours worked. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Experience, Knowledge and Skills Required :
The successful candidate will be an innovative individual with An earned master's or doctorate degree in accounting or a related discipline An active CPA license is preferred Experience with learning management systems (e.g. Canvas) Preference will go to candidates with prior undergraduate teaching experience and a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence Possess the ability to effectively engage and communicate with a diverse student population in a way that progresses the learning process. Commitment to building an equitable, inclusive, and diverse scholarly environment in the classroom and on campus. Work Conditions Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to meet requirements of the position, including teaching night or weekend classes.  Must be able to work in office and classroom environment while having contact with faculty, students, staff, and parents on any given day.  Work has deadlines, interruptions, moderate volume and can be stressful.  COVID vaccinations/boosters are strongly recommended.
