Salary $31,332 Annualy.
Salary commensurate with education and experience.
Hours per Week 40.00 Standard from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code§51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. Must possess a valid driver's license issued by theState where the applicant resides and must be insurable as defined in the UT System UTS 157, as applicable to the performance of essentialduties and responsibilities of the position.

Please submit all documents in a single PDF file to be considered. Purpose of Position Under limited supervision and with considerable latitude for the use ofinitiative and independent judgment, computes, classifies, records, and verifies numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records.
Essential Functions Compiles and sorts documents, such as: invoices, work orders, checks, vouchers, andsubstantiates business transactions.
Verifies and posts details of business transactions, such as: funds received and disbursed;totals accounts to ledgers or computer spreadsheets and databases.
Audits invoices against purchase orders and researchesdiscrepancies.
Collects, reviews, and audits employee timecards for overtime worked and maintains attendance reports.
Examines work orders, payroll, and schedules to obtain data for calculations and tracks work orders by working with accounts payable,purchasing, and other University departments.
Investigates problems that vendors or purchasing agents have with obtaining paymentfor bills.
Tracks ProCard charges and reconciles statements.
Prepares vouchers, invoices, checks, account statements,reports, and reviews for accuracy.
Reconciles general ledger accounts with various registers; extracts general ledger information;compiles cost revenue reports, and balance sheets; reconciles bank statements.
Monitors loans, accounts payable, and receivables toensure that payments are up to date.
Codes data for input to financial data processing system according to University accountingprocedures.
Monitors and updates long distance calls list.
Assists in the training and supervision of clerical personnel.
Performs periodic and as needed inventory of office equipment and supplies; generates purchase orders for new equipment or arrangesfor surplus equipment to be removed from premises.
Coordinates various office management functions, including student employeescheduling and preparing staff departmental meetings, ordering and monitoring inventory and office supplies, and coordinating facilities andmail service activities.
Answers and refers telephone calls or other program inquiries to ensure accurate and timely communicationsare facilitated.
Assists with special events (student activities, workshops, seminars, open houses, pre-commencement, etc.).Driving within city limits to pick up supplies for student banquets and other event needs.
As appropriate, oversee and mentor theAccounting Specialist I position or lower level Accounting staff positions.
Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able tolearn and use institutional software systems.
Complies with all State and University policies.
Other duties may beassigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: No supervisory responsibilities.

Associate's degree and
Five years related experience to the statement ofduties and responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of Academic Programs held in the Graduate Business Center
