JOB DESCRIPTION A leading Event Production company and Sales & Installation company with a national footprint is looking for qualified accounting professionals for its fast-paced expanding accounting department in its Chicago headquarters. The Accounts Receivable Specialist assists with ensuring that the company receives payment for services and equipment offered to clients. 
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable. Creates invoices according to company practices; submits invoices to customers. Create and review contracts and knowledge of SOWs Maintains and updates customer files, including name or address changes, mergers, or mailing attentions. Drafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent accountholders to request payment. Creates reports regarding the current status of customer accounts as requested.  Researches customer discrepancies and past-due amounts with the assistance of the Collections Manager and other staff.   Assists in generating monthly billing statements based on the general ledger. Assists Accounting in reconciling revenue accounts each month. Copies, files, and retrieves materials for accounts receivable as needed. Relays changes of information to appropriate employees. Performs other related duties as assigned.  BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field A minimum of 3 years' experience handling Account Payables and Receivables Experience with QuickBooks preferably QuickBooks Enterprise DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Self-starter that can thrive in both a corporate and start-up type environment Strong technical and interpersonal skills Strong organizational skills COMPENSATION A comprehensive compensation package including salary, commissions, medical and dental insurance, vacation and holidays will be offered.
