About the role: They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the financial operations of their property management division. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company's objectives.
Responsibilities: Manage the full accounting cycle for the property management division, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and month-end close processes. Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and training to ensure high performance and professional development. Coordinate and oversee the preparation of financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis reports for senior management and stakeholders. Develop and implement internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets, mitigate risks, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including property managers, leasing agents, and asset managers, to support financial decision-making and optimize property performance. Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and treasury functions to optimize liquidity and maximize investment returns. Review and analyze property financial performance, identifying opportunities for cost savings, revenue enhancement, and operational efficiencies. Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies to facilitate audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting. Stay abreast of accounting standards, regulatory changes, and industry trends to ensure adherence to best practices and drive continuous improvement. Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management, contributing financial expertise and insights to achieve organizational goals. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role, preferably in property management or real estate. Strong technical accounting skills and proficiency in GAAP; knowledge of IFRS and real estate accounting principles is a plus. Proficient in financial management software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization. Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and analytical problem-solving skills. Proactive, self-motivated, and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
