Position Summary We are looking for a talented Accounting Assistant to join our Team. The responsibilities for this position include recording and paying vendor invoices weekly, making and recording online payments, and maintaining vendor records to include gathering and maintaining current W-9s and certificates of insurance for each vendor. This position will also assist in recording fixed assets and maintaining fixed asset records.
Specific Responsibilities Performs accounts payable processing and aids in the recording of fixed assets. Maintain vendor files to include current W-9s and COIs for each vendor. Prepare 1099s to issue to appropriate vendors at year end. Develop and maintain records of capital assets including construction work in progress (CWIP), additions, disposals, and depreciation. Analyze accounting data in the fixed asset subsidiary and general ledger to review and highlight variances, trends, exceptions and discrepancies, taking action as appropriate. Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with operations to ensure accounts payable are timely and accurately recorded. Assist with various ad hoc projects as needed. Clerical Audit Support Promote continuous improvement. Required Knowledge Skills & Abilities Ability to apply independent judgement and discretion as appropriate. Detail oriented, analytical and highly organized. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to organize and prioritize work and meet critical deadlines. Proficient in Excel. Familiarity with Microsoft Business Central/Dynamics GP is a plus. Experience with online payments and invoice automation is a plus. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in accounting or a closely related field. 2 years of professional accounting or business-related experience.
