Summary:
The Accounting and Financial Reporting Specialist is responsible for tasks such as gathering and monitoring financial data, preparing statements (balance sheets and income statements), forecasting costs and revenues, managing tax payments, organizing internal audits, and analyzing financial trends to support the company's financial decisions. As Accounting and Financial Reporting Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting preparation of the Company's consolidated financial statements including cash flow statement, statement of equity, footnote disclosures, and management's discussion and analysis as well as other internal and external reporting deliverables. This role is expected to take ownership and drive timely completion of the reconciliation and tie-out of internal and external financial reporting deliverables to supporting documentation in a manner that is efficient and well-organized.
Requirements:
Duties Include:
Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual balance sheets. Statements of cash flows, comprehensive income, and equity as well as certain footnotes and other reporting deliverables.
Support the timely completion and filing of various government financial surveys for both state and Federal.
Assist with margin analysis and other reporting related to invoicing, team performance, etc.
Gathering and monitoring financial data (e.g. sales revenues and liabilities)
Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual statements (balance sheets and income statements)
Forecasting costs and revenues
Manage tax payments.
Organize internal audits.
Prepare budgets (for the entire company and by department)
Monitor and report on accounting discrepancies!
Conduct detailed risk analyses to assess potential investments.
Analyze financial trends.
Perform month-end and year-end close processes.
Internal and external reporting.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred
Additional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus.
2+ years of relevant accounting experience
Knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software
In-depth understanding of business bookkeeping procedures
Strong U.S. GAAP foundation including understanding of recent GAAP standards.
Experience performing and documenting tie out of financial statements, disclosures and other related materials, including identification and resolution of outliers.
Critical thinking and attention to detail required.
Time management
2-3 years of experience in business, finance, and operations analysis.
Demonstrated ability to effectively use complex analytical, interpretive and problem-solving techniques.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
MS Suite- strong and proven skills to create complex analysis.
