If you are an Accountant, please apply now so that we can contact you as soon as an opportunity aligned with your skills/experience arises.High-Level DescriptionThe Advisor will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely reporting of the financial impacts related to the movement and ownership of customer and company natural gas as it travels through their assigned pipelines and storages from the transmission and storage systems managed by the Company.Specific AccountabilitiesUnderstand fundamentals of US GAAP, Reporting Standards, and Financial Controls.Prepare, review, and approve monthly journal entries related to gas processing, storage and pipeline imbalances, fuel inventory, and fuel over/under recovery based on various FERC tracking mechanisms.Prepare monthly and quarterly actual / budget / forecast variance analysis on gas processing.Prepare pipeline and storage trackers.Prepare and review account reconciliations.Prepare quarterly and annual FERC Form 3 and Form 2 filings.Prepare annual EIA-176.Prepare annual tracker filings.Coordinate and interact with internal and external auditors on quarterly and year-end audits.Ensure compliance with SOX controls and related reporting requirements.Provide guidance or assisting other team members during suppressed reporting deadlines.Work on ad hoc assignments as assigned.Scope/DimensionsThe Advisor, Gas Accounting interacts extensively with representatives of various departments including Capacity Services, Gas Measurement, and Regulatory Affairs. This interaction is to ensure the representational accuracy of the data for each pipe and storage facility, to analyze variances and anticipate trends – whether favorable or unfavorable - and to ensure the accuracy of the numerous Regulatory filings involved.Contacts (Working Relationships)Operations, business development, regulatory department, internal audit, external audit and department of energy.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesRequired:Bachelor degree required in Accounting or Finance and limited experience.Computer proficiency working with applications: Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint, Word, Microsoft Outlook.4+ years or equivalent of related experienceExcellent communication skills with all levels of employees and management.Proactive self-starter, with the ability to work independently and with others, strong work ethics.Proven ability to work independently and with others, strong work ethics.Preferred:Broad understanding of Gas Accounting is desiredFERC experience preferred, but not required.CPA preferred, but not required.
