Position Summary
We are seeking an Accountant to join our accounting team. The Accountant provides general accounting
support and ensures the accuracy of the general ledger account balances and trial balances. This
position is also responsible for conducting key activities such as month-end and quarter-end close, lease
accounting, account reconciliations, and audits. If you're a team player with a "Can-do" attitude who is
looking to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, this is the role for you.Job Responsibilities Participate in the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close for the Company, including the reconciliation of accounts and the preparation of monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP
Perform lease accounting for our growing leasing portfolio under GAAP Accounting (ASC 842)
Performing monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance analyses
Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
Prepare, code and record journal entries in the general ledger, including but not limited to prepaid expenses, accruals and allocations
Assist with reconciliation of monthly sales and accounts receivables
Assist with preparation and review of with property tax returns
Provide audit support specific to general accounting
Prepare state and local filings
Assist with maintaining and reconciling fixed asset schedules and prepare depreciation entries
Assist with inventory reconciliations
Assess internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas
Prepare financial reports for internal, government or statutory requirements as directed
Review existing processes and systems to assist in identification of improvement opportunities with a focus on simplification, standardization and optimization
Additional project-based responsibilities as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
2+ years of progressive accounting experience
Knowledge of GAAP and related practices
Strong experience using accounting software
Minimum one year of general ledger, multi-unit experience
Knowledge of common accounting practices and procedures, including solid understanding of GAAP
Strong detail orientation, time management and organization skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with a high level of accuracy
High level of technical aptitude including high proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Google Docs, report writing software and ability to learn new technology quickly
Established analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to function well in a team-based environment
Ability to successfully execute change with leadership focusing on expedited completion on critical project tasks
Self-starter, proficient and able to think outside of the box to bring new ideas forward and help with process efficiencies and effectiveness
Ability to remain positive and flexible to change while working in a fast paced, changing and challenging work environment
Ability to provide outstanding customer service and an exceptional experience for internal and external customers while balancing workload.
