Full job description Meyer Painting Company is currently seeking a Construction Accountant. In this role, you must display a good working knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and job cost systems in the construction/painting industry. You must be able to answer questions from project managers or anyone regarding the status of an accounts payable or receivable invoice. Knowledge of job cost systems in order to provide information/reports to Project Managers and leadership. We are looking for a candidate with excellent communication skills who manages their time effectively to get work completed on schedule. Someone who loves working in a dynamic environment and who is process oriented will excel in this position.
Specific Responsibilities: Oversee daily financial operations including checking bank accounts, posting the General Ledger, and entering invoices from vedors. Process payroll, manage 401k contributions, and submit certified payroll reports. Enter and maintain job costs, cost codes, change orders, and purchase orders. Manage Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payables. Generate and submit monthly AIA pay applications based on contract progress. Prepare weekly cost reports. Perform month end reconciliation for bank, credit card, and prepaid insurance. Perform month end cost accounting. Invoice/expenses analysis and cost control. Oversee accruals and CCIP reporting. Assist with year end tax preparation and filing. Assist with multi-state tax filing. Prepare closing journal entries. Maintain electronic vendor and payables files. Specific Requirements: Bachelors degree in accounting not 100% required, but strongly preferred. Performing efficiently in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Job costing experience. Knowledge in additional accounting + project management/ estimating software is a plus! CPA is a plus! Excellent attention to detail.
