One Planet Ops, the leading online marketplace for locally-targeted advertising, is seeking an Accountant who will fit in to a very fun and fast paced environment and has the ability to be very hands-on and a team player. This position will report to the Corporate Controller and will initially be an individual contributor role.
Responsibilities: Work closely with external tax partner, review and submit all documents and requirements Understand and apply both generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and accounting policies and procedures. Assist in the execution of the month-end close, account reconciliations and maintenance of journal entry logs. Prepare monthly assigned account reconciliations. Ensure that all accounting departmental records are accurate and well organized. Initiate recommendations for improvement and efficiencies. Provide analysis as requested. Work closely with accounting team in assuring adherence to company policy and proper expense guidelines. Provide back up for essential functions of the department (e.g. A/P, A/R) as needed. Review and assist in employee payroll processing Assist with collecting information for various business-related compliance forms. Assist in other projects as assigned Experience & Requirements
Bachelor's Degree required in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred 5-6 years of experience Strong knowledge of US GAAP Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-growth, fast-paced environment Strong team work, collaboration, flexibility and pro-activeness "Roll-up the sleeves" approach in order to accomplish all necessary tasks Commitment to excellence and impeccable ethical standards and integrity Personal Attributes of the Ideal Candidate include: Benefits of working as a Accountant in Walnut Creek, CA:
