This position located in the Division of Executive Budget and Finance, State Controller's Office and is headquartered at the DOA Office Building at 101 E. Wilson Street, Madison, WI 53703. Based on current DEBF policy and the business needs within the unit, this position would work from their headquarter location at least two days per week with the possibility of working from home the remaining days. This is a career executive level position. Position Summary Under general supervision of the Section Chief in the Capital Accounting Section of the State Controller's Office, this professional accounting position will conduct work related to the conversion of the State's statutory basis of financial reporting to a GAAP basis of financial reporting. This will require the development, implementation, and maintenance of financial reporting systems to be used to obtain and process financial information and other data necessary to convert the State's statutorily based financial statements to a GAAP basis. This staff member will retrieve, coordinate, research, and compile information for entries, financial statements, note disclosures, reconciliations, and reports for state agencies.

Salary Information This position is in schedule-range (81-02) which is a career executive level. The salary will be between $90,520 and $97,760. In addition, up to $1.00 per hour CPA add-on may be available depending on qualifications. A 2-year career executive trial period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Qualifications Minimum Qualification:
To qualify for this position, you must have the academic preparation or training as described in any one of the following described below:
Completed a four-year or advanced degree with a major in Accounting from an accredited College/University. Professional Experience or Education equivalent to a four-year or advanced degree with a major in accounting from an accredited College/University. Qualified applicants will have experience in:
Applying generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) in the preparation or audit of financial statements (such as a balance sheet, income statement, cash flows, footnote disclosures), or applying GAAP to develop year-end adjustments related to the preparation of those statements. Working within an ERP accounting software system; especially general ledger, commitment control (budget), project costing, or accounts payable Additionally, more than qualified applicants will have experience with:
Documenting, analyzing, and improving business processes. Researching, analyzing, and/or implementing GASB or FASB standards Provide guidance/consultation to other accounting/fiscal staff in areas such as financial statement compilation and/or information systems (i.e., training, advising, fiscal schedule preparation) How To Apply Apply online!
