The Accelerator Operator will assist in the development of the processes around routine and non-routine particle (electron) accelerator equipment operations and maintenance tasks necessary to safely, compliantly, and efficiently manufacture radiopharmaceuticals. The Accelerator Technician will guide a team in performing routine operations and maintenance. The individual will be required for the operational success of the radioisotope production process, including accelerator startup/shutdown operations and maintenance, target irradiation, and other routine operations.
Safely, compliantly, and efficiently operates the accelerators and associated systems and equipment, such as hot cells, primary cooling systems, and development work on filling and packaging line. Provide support for operational and testing activities of the accelerator and associated systems. Give direction and assist with routine maintenance, functional tests, and inspections of accelerators and associated systems, and equipment. Assist the development of production documents, such as Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Forms, and Logs. Performs various aspects of the radiopharmaceutical irradiation and production process, including pre-production set-up, manufacturing processes, and post-production activities. Bachelors or Technical qualification in Engineering, Physics is preferred. Three or more years of working in a highly regulated / cGMP environment; or equivalent related experience is required. Experience working with electronics, test equipment, and/or mechanical systems is required. Knowledge of the operation of an accelerator, nuclear reactor, or other radiation producing devices, and experience in radiopharmaceutical production is preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude is required, and some scientific background is ideal.
