The Academic Leader in Residence position prepares school leaders for launching and leading Phalen Leadership Academies (PLA) nationwideResponsible for implementing PLA's academic programming and providing coaching and support to teachers and scholarsEngages in seminars, workshops, and mentorship to ensure successful school leadership
Job seniority: mid-to-senior level
Responsibilities
• Ensuring minimum 10% increase in proficiency per year in ELA and math on state accountability test• Retaining 90% of highly effective and effective teachers• Executing the PLA Academic Model and holding staff accountable for its implementation• Ensuring professional development aligns with PLA Coaching Cycle analytics• Building positive relationships with teachers, administrators, and staff• Leading/participating in partner meetings and community meetings• Other assigned responsibilities
Requirements
• Passion for working with students and families in under-served communities• Master's Degree or higher from an accredited college/university• Valid State Principal/Administrator License• High proficiency in grade-level standards, benchmarks, and curriculum• Experience in tracking and using data for instruction• Organizational and time management skills
