Transportation Logistics Manager Logistics Manager Location Oklahoma City, OK (Meridian Avenue Corridor area) : Tribal Diagnostics is searching for a Transportation Logistics Manager. The hours for this position will be Monday through Friday from 4pm - Midnight. Job Summary: As a Transportation Logistics Manager at Tribal Diagnostics, you will play a pivotal role in optimizing our laboratory sample pick-up operations. You will be responsible for strategically planning courier routes, managing a team of drivers and ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of samples. Your leadership will be crucial in maintaining high standards of safety, performance and customer satisfaction.
Duties/Responsibilities Develop efficient and cost-effective courier routes for laboratory sample pick-up. Optimize routes to ensure timely and safe delivery of samples while minimizing fuel costs and environmental impact. Lead and supervise a team of drivers, ensuring they adhere to company policies and safety regulations. Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the skills of drivers and promote a culture of safety and efficiency. Create and maintain driver schedules to meet customer demands and operational requirements. Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes in demand or unforeseen circumstances. Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure the fleet is properly maintained and meets all safety standards. Coordinate vehicle inspections and repairs to minimize downtime. Liaise with internal stakeholders, including laboratory staff and customer service, to understand sample pick-up requirements and address any issues. Communicate with drivers in real-time to provide updates, guidance, and address any challenges. Required Skills/Abilities: Proven experience as a Transportation Logistics Manager or similar role in a related industry. Strong knowledge of logistics and route optimization software. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Ability to make quick decisions and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with regulations governing transportation and logistics. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. 2-3 years of experience in transportation and logistics management. Physical Requirements: Ability to move around the office and warehouse facilities. Must be able to visit and inspect courier routes and drivers in the field. Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds occasionally, as may be required for inspection or assisting with vehicle maintenance. Valid driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle. May be required to drive occasionally for route inspections, training sessions, or other job-related activities. Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed to address operational requirements or emergencies. Physical and mental stamina to handle the demands of a fast-paced logistics environment.
