(Contingent upon available funding): 13.00 - 16.00, Hourly Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 - 5:00 Faculty Appt Period: Job Summary: Provide assistance to students, parents, non-university clientele, faculty and staff in accordance with Oklahoma statutes, University policies, and Federal Regulations. Receive and process to the cashiering system University monetary transactions including departmental deposits and receivable payments from staff, faculty, students and non-university customers in compliance with Oklahoma statutes, University policies, and Federal regulations. Balance daily individual cash drawer (cash, ACH, paper checks and credit cards) which entails daily bank deposit preparation; beginning operating cash allocation; and ending closing cash reconciliation. Interpret, process, and research payments made on accounts for students, departments, and vendors. Explain accounts and answer questions from students, faculty, staff, and external clients. Assist in testing fee assessment each semester; 1098T testing annually; and other projects that contribute to the success of the Bursar's Office.
The office environment tends to be noisy as we deal directly with the public.
Requires standing at the counter and sitting on an elevated chair. Education & Experience Position Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications: High School/GED and two years of related work experience in the fields of banking/cashiering, accounting, bookkeeping, or related course work.
Must be able to operate a calculator by touch.


Must be familiar with computers.


Must be able to work well with the public.

Since this office is responsible for collections of past due accounts, all Bursar Office employee bursar accounts must be in good financial standing. Therefore, this policy applies to all successful applicants considered for employment.

Good problem-solving, research, and public relations skills. Aptitude for computerized record-keeping systems and analytical ability. Team-oriented in carrying out tasks with co-workers. Ability to cope with stress positively. Strong attention to detail. Flexibility to handle multiple priorities with poise and professionalism. Proficient in MS Office software, mainframe computer systems, and ten-key. Ability to work effectively as a team player.
Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree in a business-related field.
Higher education experience; OSU experience; Bursar Office experience.
