Responsibilities
• Conduct assessments and diagnostic examinations of students• Participate in developing Individual Educational Plans (IEP)• Assist in implementing students' IEPs and behavior management plans• Coordinate with outside agencies, organizations, and institutions• Serve as a resource to students and parents for counseling and liaison between home and school• Acquire professional knowledge and stay updated with current developments• Maintain accurate record-keeping and provide student information to colleges and employers• Encourage parental involvement and effective communication• Assist in the orientation of new teachers and provide in-service training• Select and requisition appropriate books, aids, supplies, and equipment
Requirements
• Minimum of 18 years of age• Possession of a baccalaureate degree• Possession of applicable teacher license• Submit transcripts and references• Copy of Teaching license• Successful completion of background investigations/tests
