Surgical Technician

Surgical Technician - Certified Responsibilities: Inspects equipment for proper working condition Follows principles of aseptic technique and prescribed operating/procedure room procedure Adheres to aseptic technique when opening sterile packages and preparing for the procedure Arranges instruments according to given procedure Confirms that instruments work properly Maintains and updates instrument cards and surgeons' preference cards Responds in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and physician Acts as a specialty resources person to nursing colleagues, student nurses and new employees: Provides support to staff in use of new/specialty items. Collects evaluation forms from staff and surgeons on new products. Assists in precepting new and novice employees. Completes validation tools with preceptor and provides progress check.
