SALARY : $15.00 Hourly OPEN TO ONEIDA ENROLLED TRIBAL MEMBERS ONLY NUMBER OF HOURS PER WEEK: 32 HOURS PER WEEK INTERN DUTIES/PROJECTS Deliver excellent customer service for the Nation's Boards, Committees, and Commissions Learn to update event materials Learn to Respond to emails in a timely and professional manner. Learn to complete record keeping and inventory. Assist in providing technical assistance to the Land Claims Commission Updating keywords in OnBase. Assist the Land Claims Commission with organizing their office. Attend Land Claims Commission meetings and other board, committee, and commission meetings as necessary. Assist with General Tribal Council (GTC) meeting logistics. Adhere to all Tribal Personnel Policies and Procedures, Tribal Standard Operating Procedures, and Area and Program Strategic Plans and Policies. INTERN SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/COLLEGE MAJOR Major in: in Administration, Business Administration, Project Management or closely related field PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT Frequently walk, sit; use hands, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear. Work is generally performed in an interior setting with a moderate noise level. A Tuberculosis (TB) Screening and/or a 2 step TB Skin Test is required within thirty (30) days of employment. STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS Ability to learn about the organization, functions, objectives, policies and procedures Ability to learn how integrate the Oneida Nation's history and culture into the workplace Ability to learn skills in operating various word-processing, spreadsheets, and database software programs in a Windows environment Ability to communicate efficiently and effectively verbally, digitally, and in writing. Ability to exercise independent judgement Ability to interact and maintain good working relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds Must adhere to strict confidentiality in all matters. (Must sign a confidentiality statement prior to employment.) Must pass a pre-employment drug screening. Must adhere to the Nation's Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy during the course of employment. Must pass a background security check with the Oneida Nation in order to meet the Employment Eligibility Requirements, Tribal/State Compact and/or Oneida Nation Gaming Ordinance as they pertain to the position. A temporary license or Gaming License issued by the Oneida Gaming Commission is required as a condition of employment and continuing employment within the Oneida Nation's Gaming Division.
