Structural Steel Estimator

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
* Five plus years of structural steel experience
* Preferred experience with AutoCAD, BlueBeam, & Tekla
* Experience working on projects ranging from one hundred thousand to five million dollars
Responsible for reviewing design drawings to perform steel takeoffs. Candidate should be able to identify steel requirements and work with Estimating Manager to apply material and budgeted hours to create a bid. Candidate should also understand purchasing, detailing, engineering, erection, scheduling, fabrication, coatings, and shipping in regards to steel.

* Proactive safety planning and execution
* Subcontractor and vendor relationships
* Coordination with field forces
* Cost control
* Ability to grow book of business
* Ability to react quickly to request of field associates and client needs
CAPABILITIES
* Ability to bid and manage work from conceptual stage through completion
* Working knowledge of blueprints and construction specifications
* Advanced computer skills with estimating software, also proficiency with MS Office
* Understand aspects of structural steel and misc. metal concepts
