We have an exciting new opportunity to join Symetra as aSr. Software Engineer I.About the roleAs the Senior Software Engineer I you will tackle sophisticated business needs by delivering quality code with minimal guidance and supervision. You will contribute to design elements, leverage engineering best practices, and elevate team processes. You should be an excellent problem solver and provide mentorship to junior engineers within the team as needed.What you will doWrite efficient, reliable, maintainable, and defect-free code. Design and implement software to meet and exceed business objectives.Contribute to software development practices such as design spec and code review.Collaborate with multi-functional teams to design and implement scalable and efficient cloud solutions.Use automated CI/CD pipelines to deploy software packages in a DevOps environment.Solid understanding and ability to use tools to assist with user analytics, logging, and monitoring.Write and implement unit tests, integration tests, and performance tests.What we offer youWe don't take a "one-size-fits-all" approach when it comes to our employees. Check out our Symetra Benefits OverviewCompensationSalary Range: $100,300 - $167,100 plus eligibility for annual bonus program.Who you areBachelor's degree in computer science or other related field or equivalent work experience.5+ years' experience as a software engineer with excellent design, problem solving and debugging skills.Solid background of object-oriented design principles and design patterns.Experience with .NET Development. .NET Core preferred.Proficiency in JavaScript/Typescript, ES5/6, HTML, CSS frameworkGood understanding of component-based development, familiarity with Angular or any other equivalent library/framework.Hands on experience in building scalable systems using AWS serverless technologies and supporting services such as Lambda, Fargate, RDS, and DynamoDBHands on experience with infrastructure-as-code technologies such as CloudFormation, CDK, or equivalentExperience with RESTFUL APIs and WebservicesHands on experience and proficient understanding of automated testing frameworks like cypress or any other equivalent automated system testing tools.Familiarity with various tools like Swagger, Postman etc.Experience in scrum and agile methodologies.Good communication and collaboration skillsWe empower inclusionAt Symetra, we aspire to be the most inclusive insurance company in the country.
