Position Summary/Description: The Sr. Operations Center Administrator to ensure the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure. The Operations Center is a 24×7×365 facility that monitors a vast array of critical IT infrastructure, aids in notification and escalation of outages, and helps to facilitate the handling of a major service outage.
As a key team member, you will vigilantly monitor services, scan infrastructure for potential issues, and work with service owners to resolve issues. Additionally, you will assist in managing the centralized monitoring platform which will include onboarding of systems from central IT as well as other university departments.
In major incident handling, you'll showcase expertise in executing processes independently and communicating effectively during outages.
This position also requires at least one month a year rotation out of the Operations Center and into the centralized network group.
This position exists within the Infrastructure and Operations division of Information Technology Services group. ITS is a group of over 300 professionals dedicated to the advancement of higher learning through I.T. initiatives. Education and Experience: Preferred:
* Experience in a 24/7/365 IT operations center
* Experience in Change Management procedures
* Experience in Major Incident Coordination
* Experience with NAGIOS , Zabbix, Opsview or some other centralized monitoring platform
* Experience with xMatters or PagerDuty
* Experience in the Windows, MAC OSX , and Linux Operating Systems
* Knowledge of networking fundamentals, including but not limited to: TCP /IP, STP , LACP , LLDP , MLAG , MVRP , 8021q, PoE standards
* Experience in Networking Operating Systems like XOS , Cisco IOS
* Experience with Aruba wireless
Ability to code with preference in python/ DJANGO
