Position Summary: The K-5 Special Education Teacher Long-Term Sub will serve as a student-centered educator who is a learner and warm demander for all learners. Teacher will establish collaborative & impactful relationships with colleagues, families, and students. Teacher will understand and model best instructional practices, serve as a member of a Professional Learning Community, and ensure high levels of student learning. Candidate must have a learner, inclusionary, and equity-focused mindset and see that their presence has an impact with students and our school environment. Position is a balance of co-teaching and pull-out services, all based on student needs and IEP goals.
Position is combined between two assignments:
August 2024- early November 2024 - McKinley Elementary Case Manager
early November - March 2025 - Washington Elementary Case Manager
Qualifications: Valid MN Special Education Teaching license. Experience with co-teaching and/or inclusionary models. Student-Centered and focused on ALL. Commitment and belief around ensuring all students learn at high levels. Demonstrated use of research based instructional and engagement strategies to meet the continuum of individual learning needs while using data and assessments to guide instructional decisions. Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents and students to achieve student learning results. Bi-lingual skills in Spanish or Somali desired .
