Responsibilities
• Provide support in general education settings• Deliver academic instruction to special education students• Assist with adapting the curriculum to students' learning level• Administer testing or assessments• Provide vocational skills and assistance with domestic and clerical duties• Implement specialized therapy programs and assist with progress and IEPs• Assist with daily routines and personal hygiene of special needs students• Support behavior intervention plan implementation• Assist with classroom activities and tutoring• Perform various clerical duties
Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent• Effective communication and interpersonal skills• Preferred 2 years previous experience with children• Clerical skills appropriate to duties• Valid community First Aid and CPR card (or acquire within 6 months)• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English for bilingual applicants• Training in Second Language Acquisition or instruction• Small Vehicle Operator permit if required• Group Leader qualification by Department of Social Service if applicable• TB test and physical exam if applicable• Must be highly qualified according to No Child Left Behind Act
