What you'll do Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the all-electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:
• Lead visual design work from ideation to mock-ups to implementation.
• Develop designs that express the Scout brand coherently across digital and print mediums.
• Create compelling visualizations and animations from Alias and Catia data for weekly design review with design and engineering teams. 
• Create repeatable creative animations and rigging, realistic interaction with the environment, suspension movement etc.
• Work closely with cross-disciplinary teams to understand their needs and anticipate and prepare for visualization needs.
Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. The role will be based at our office in Novi, MI. Applicants should expect that the role may require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and be able to travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Industrial Design, Entertainment Arts, or a related field. Equivalent years of professional experience also acceptable. 
• 5+ years of experience designing animation or visualization for automobiles. 
• Ability to create rigged vehicle systems that can be repurposed and reused. 
• Proficiency in animation including data preparation, rigging, camera movement. 
• Expertise in Unreal Engine or Maya.
• Basic Alias or VRED skills required. 
• Experience with Twin Motion, Blender, and Maya are nice to have. 
• Strong body of work that illustrates range of animation and environment design. 
• Knowledge of automotive design and vehicle engineering. 
• Strong organizational and communication skills. 
• Ability to thrive with a high degree of autonomy and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment. 
• Passion for all things design — photography, cinematography, architecture, product design, fashion, color, and/or composition.

The salary range listed represents the maximum and minimum starting base pay for this position as of the time of posting. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.
Initial base salary range: $130,000-$160,000
