About the Role

About the opportunity:

Cultural Strategist.

We are seeking a driven, communicative, reliable, and insightful teammate to be a well-rounded facilitator of strategic excellence, and collaboration- for our key culture-first brands.

As a Cultural Strategist, your main job is to take ownership of cultural (to-multicultural) strategic projects and be seen as the day-to-day lead.

You'll work with a Strategy Director to be the source of truth on the spaces your audiences occupy, the places they want to be, and intel on the competitive brands that we're looking to edge out of our consumers' minds. You'll always have something interesting to contribute and are constantly sought out by partners across the agency because they respect your smarts and ability to problem solve.

You'll deliver the Cashmere Strategy OS,

which is uniquely-built to forge more authentic connections for brands and ultimately unlock "undeniably dope" creative solutions that the culture (and multicultural audiences) engages with and even adopts as their own. Our process understands audience psychographics and behaviors (particularly GenZ multi-hyphens) - well beyond traditional demographics and personas - and mines for fresh cultural spaces where your brand can credibly live & lead in the culture surrounding your audience.

This position reports to the Strategy Director and works closely with other strategists and creatives.

Your work moves every project and pitch forward by setting the direction of our campaigns. Your application of actionable insights will shape breakthrough creative platforms.

You'll be familiar with brand, campaign, and social strategies and frameworks, with the ability to take on solo tasks as well as collaborative projects.

On dedicated clients, you'll dig deep into the company's brand, business, consumer, and cultural status, continually devising ways to capture opportunities across our agency responsibilities (and even beyond) that lead to our clients' success.

Organization and time management are crucial.

You'll work on more than one project and client simultaneously, balancing priorities in collaboration with your manager. Your communication skills are excellent, as you'll engage with disciplines across the Media.Monks network to accomplish tasks with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
High engagement and visibility with strategic teams
Work closely with the Strategists and Director to develop ground-breaking creative frameworks that are the foundation of social, PR, experiential and influencer initiatives
Hold deep knowledge and understanding of culture, and how trends in technology, entertainment, business, and social media impact our world
Effectively create impactful presentations and reports on your own
Clear ability to communicate how this information translates into actionable strategies for our clients, and help our clients achieve success
Provide feedback that helps work align strategically with our clients' objectives and goals
Proven ability to inspire and elevate the creative team's output
Conceptualize, plan, and execute across various content platforms
Analyze performance metrics to identify opportunities for growth
Develop internal/external briefs from client RFPs into an agency brief
Collaborate with other internal departments such as Social Media, Experiential, Influencer, and Public Relations teams to develop pitch decks
Attend pitch meetings with clients to gain new business
Actively participate and lead brainstorming sessions with the creative team, and other strategic disciplines (across an IAT)
Author thought-leadership deliverables as needed (i.e., Cultural Intelligence reports, Community Marketing playbooks, Culture Moment POVS, Diverse Audiences Insights, etc.)
About You
Strong writer/communicator, who crafts compelling narratives driven by data
High metabolism for fast-moving projects at the speed of culture (and clients)
Conceptualist capable of developing and applying frameworks that help illuminate a clear path to greater brand truths that our clients can leverage.
A passion for culture, and cultural knowledge across multiple categories and audiences
Deep understanding of how cultural context relates to the success of a brand
An innate ability to translate and connect your ideas to the context of today's cultural landscape
Familiarity with Affinio, Brandwatch, and other 3p data platforms
5-7 years experience in account planning/ cultural strategy
Strong writer and communicator
Self starter who's eager to contribute
Community-minded networker ready to collaborate with our many capabilities
Intelligent & perceptive, seeing connections and the big picture where others don't
Persuasive and thoughtful ability to change minds and tell a story
No ego- the Monks' culture is all about collaboration
Creative mindset that permeates your strategic thinking
