AtkinsRéalis has the depth and breadth of expertise to respond to the most technically challenging and time-critical infrastructure projects and the urgent transition to a low- carbon economy.Major Function/Role:The Landscape Architecture and Community Design Practice works on a wide variety of public and private landscape architecture, urban design and community planning projects, both for our own clients as well as in support of other Practice Areas within the firm.AtkinsRéalis is seeking an accomplished, highly motivated Landscape Architect with strong design skills to provide direction and technical expertise to staff on diverse Landscape, Architecture and Community Design projects. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, and ability to work well both unsupervised and collaboratively with many people at all levels of the firm. In addition to Landscape Architecture, a candidate shall demonstrates interest and skills in urban design (in all settings), community planning/design, sustainability and placemaking. Personality traits include, passionate about the Landscape Architecture, creative, career and leadership oriented, design-focused, ambitious self-starter with get-it-done attitude and someone who strives for positive results.How will you contribute to the team?Defines scope of project, with full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing and coordinating project assignments.Selects problems for investigation, developing novel site design, landscape architectural concepts and approaches.Conducts quality control checks, reviewing calculations, designs, specifications and construction documents for accuracy and completeness, and performing on-site inspections of projects under construction to ensure aesthetic value and quality construction.Plans and organizes the work of junior landscape architects and technicians.Monitors completion of written reports for master plans.Keeps abreast of current methods and developments in landscape architecture.Manages project production and budgets.Planning and developing landscape architectural projects concerned with unique or controversial problems, which have an important effect on major company projects.Supervision received is essentially administrative, with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits; acts independently on technical matters pertaining to Landscapes Architecture and Community Design.Supervises and/or coordinates with other senior professionals and support staff.What will you contribute?Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture; MLA or graduate level technical coursework required. This level may be achieved by a Landscape Architects with a minimum of fifteen years' experience with a Bachelor's degree or twelve years' experience with a Master's degree.Registration as a Licensed Landscape Architect is required.General Competencies expected of all Professionals and Managers are as follows: Client Service, Commitment, Communication, Innovation & Continuous Improvement, Professionalism, Quality, and Teamwork.
