Senior Fixed Asset Accountant Location Hybrid work in Golden, CO : Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles. This is a key role within our organization, requiring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a deep understanding of financial concepts. Duties:- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements- Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance- Perform general ledger entries and journal entries- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts- Collaborate with internal departments to gather financial data and provide analysis for decision-making processes- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions- Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant regulations- Conduct regular audits to identify areas of improvement and implement necessary changes- Stay updated on industry trends, changes in accounting regulations, and best practices
Fixed Assets: - Manage Fixed assets for all North American entities using SAP:
- Conduct capital expenditure approval process
- Reconcile work in process (WIP) including managing expenditures vs. amount approved in
- Transfer WIP to finished goods once complete to begin and maintained depreciation
- Complete all relevant fixed asset reconciliations including monthly forecasts
- Prepare yearly audit and tax reports including fixed asset roll-forwards and depreciation schedules
- Prepare personal property declaration for several regions each year
Capital Leases: - Manage capital leases (right-of-use) assets for all North American entities using SAP
- Determine if new leases should be capitalized
- Create new leases in the system
- Process lease postings monthly and reconcile relevant accounts
- Manage lease amortization and payment schedules, especially needed for audit and tax
Payroll: - Strong background in accounting and understanding how payroll effects a company financially
- Previous experience working with ERP system and posting payroll journal entries
- Work closely with HR department to export and upload weekly and monthly payroll runs into SAP
- Identify any new payroll codes utilized on a pay cycle and incorporate into payroll mapping
- Assist cash accountants during month end close in completing cash reconciliations as some transactions relate to payroll processing
- Maintain strong relationship with multiple payroll processing providers as they assist whenever needed
- Process weekly and monthly retirement plan contribution files and upload into plan administrator system
- Maintain strong relationship with retirement plan administrator as they assist whenever needed
- Assist HR department in compiling necessary payroll tax reports for various audits
Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's degree preferred)- CPA certification is highly desirable- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles- Proficiency in accrual accounting principles and practices- Experience with balance sheet reconciliation and account reconciliation- In-depth understanding of financial acumen and ability to apply financial concepts effectively- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail- Advanced proficiency in financial accounting software and Microsoft Excel
