The Senior SoftwareEngineer will be responsible for the following:
Provide technical leadership on all aspects of software design and development within project teams. Design and develop new products, processes and methods, and design experiments using appropriate software tools and statistical methodology. Develops software according to Integra's Software Development Process. Design, develop, review, and debug software. Support design verification and validation activities. Contribute to and executes engineering schedules and plans. Instruct engineers and technical support staff on engineering test and build requirements. Works as part of a multi-functional team with other hardware engineers and support functions Prepares cost and time estimates for engineering and project schedules. Provides written reports and engineering documentation as necessary. Executes tactical implementation of strategic plans. Assures compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures and policies. Participates in team decision making. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices and all other applicable standards including the IEC 62304 standard for software development in medical devices. Stays informed about applicable new rules, regulations, and standards, specifically with respect to software. Writes engineering test protocols for testing of component parts and integrated systems. Execute or supervise key technical project activities such as design verification testing, design validation, usability testing, and IEC 60601 software-related testing. Prepares weekly progress reports on projects. Prepares verbal presentations for various company meetings. Develops and writes specifications for components/systems, product, processes, and packaging/labeling. Provide subject matter expertise and support for audit, remediation, and international product registration activities. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar discipline; Master's degree or higher preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in product development, preferably in the medical device industry. Experience in hands-on software development and troubleshooting on embedded devices is desired. Experience in leading SW development teams on projects, preferably in the medical device industry. Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and document control systems (Agile) preferred. Strong verbal and writing skills needed. Excellent knowledge of embedded OS design concepts and user interface design. Solid programming experience in C, C++, C# is a must. Experience with Windows embedded operating systems, .NET, WPF desired. Experience working in an embedded Linux environment with Yocto is desired. Experience working with Visual Studio, Eclipse, or other IDE desired. Experience working with serial, I2C, USB or other communication protocols desired. Computer vision or image processing expertise is a plus. Experience with cybersecurity standards and development is a plus. Knowledge of IEC 62304 based software development is a plus. Experience developing software on ARM-based architecture is a plus. Experience with real-time operating systems such as ThreadX and FreeRTOS is a plus. Experience with Python scripts is a plus.
