Senior Construction Estimator – Milling and Paving – Base Salary to 135k/year – Hudson Falls. NY Our client is a family run business that has been operating since 1924. They have an extensive presence in the Northeast with a vast network of hot mix asphalt and ready-mix concrete plants, quarries and more throughout New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. For now 100 years, they have supplied materials, paved roads, and constructed projects that empower communities through loyalty, mastery, and experience. The Senior Construction Estimator will be responsible for oversight of the estimating process for all projects. The Senior Construction Estimator will perform extensive market analysis, review past performance, and analyze historical cost for projects. The Senior Construction Estimator will be expected to lead and mentor a team of estimators while reinforcing the company's mission statement and corporate values. The Senior Construction Estimator will be a part of developing and implementing new processes and procedures for estimating functions. They will be estimating large DOT projects in their entirety. Responsibilities: Lead and mentor a team of estimators to drive results. Review plans and specifications to accurately define the scope of a project and construct a competitive market bid. Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including detailed estimates, quantity takeoffs, and cost breakdowns. Conduct extensive market analysis Assign estimating responsibilities for each project. Identify areas of risk on a project and the magnitude. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather project information and ensure accurate estimates. Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms. Evaluate and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements. Proficient in NYSDOT and VAOT Standard Specifications Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is highly preferred Candidate must have a minimum of 8+ years in Asphalt Paving/Heavy Highway construction estimating Must be able to show a record/project list of successful projects between $5 million and $15 million Proficient with BW2 Estimating software, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Project Compensation: Base salary to 135k/year Annual discretionary bonus Fully comprehensive benefits package that includes: Medical, Dental and Vision for Employee and Family Flexible Spending Account 401k with a company match up to 4% Additional optional insurance Vehicle allowance Paid Time Off Paid Holidays Relocation assistance if needed
