The School of Art & Art History is seeking an Instructional Services Specialist in Sculpture/Intermedia. This position is responsible for the management of the Sculpture/Intermedia Studios, labs and classrooms within the School of Art and Art History. Present demonstrations on the use of equipment and processes associated with Sculpture/Intermedia. Maintain federal and state safety regulations. Order, maintain and troubleshoot supplies and equipment. Supervise student employees.
Key Responsibilities Support/Supervise instructors and students in the preparation of advanced materials and equipment for the Sculpture Studio(s) and Foundry. Perform critical analyses to determine accuracy and safety of complex equipment. Evaluate performance and recommend replacement purchases as necessary. Prepare solutions, materials, chemicals and equipment for technically advanced courses in studio art using experience commensurate with advanced degree in art. Recommend/implement measures to improve methods, equipment performance, scheduling and quality control. Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency and safety. Implement and adhere to safety and laboratory policies; instruct teaching assistants and student employees in adherence of the same. After a sufficient orientation period, this position is eligible for hybrid work within Iowa and will require a work arrangement form to be completed. Per policy, work arrangements will be reviewed annually and must comply with the remote work program and related policies and employee travel policy when working at a remote location.

Education Required
MA in studio art or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience is required.
Required Qualifications
Ability to move 60 lbs. Working level proficiency in industrial or educational setting with fabrication techniques, tools and equipment and relevant safety practices. Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
Desired Qualifications
