In this role, you will play a vital role in addressing students' health needs, collaborating with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers, and promoting a healthy school environment.Responsibilities:Consult with students, school staff, parents and physicians concerning student health concerns, as authorizedKeep accurate records, test, reports, etc. as required by Delaware Statutes and policies, Federal Regulations, and School Board PolicyEstablish and maintain good rapport and communication with students, school personnel, parents, and communityParticipate as the health care professional at student service meetingsParticipate in staff development activities to prevent and control contagious diseases, increase knowledge and enhance the quality of nursing careAssist in the surveillance, detection of illnessesWork collaboratively with health care providers, students' parents, school district staff and community agencies to ensure access and continuity of care for studentsAssist in the establishment and maintenance of a comprehensive school health program Collect information about the health development status of students for compliance with state immunization regulations and Board of Education policiesConduct school programs of immunization, physical examinations, and sight and hearing testingEvaluate nursing care provided and changes plan of care as necessaryQualifications:Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Delaware.Experience in pediatric or school nursing preferred.Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.Knowledge of Delaware Statutes, Federal Regulations, and School Board Policy related to school health services.If you are passionate about promoting student health and wellness and are eager to join our team in Wyoming, Delaware, we want to hear from you!
