The Job You Will Perform: We are currently seeking an entry level full-time scaler to work at the International Paper Port Wentworth Mill. The duties for the role are listed below but not limited to:
Weigh and create scale tickets for all wood products trucks including logs, chips, and fiber fuel Weigh and create scale tickets and paperwork for all commodities and chemical deliveries Instruct and train drivers on mill safety and unloading procedures Conduct safety inspections to ensure drivers have the required PPE Inspect all inbound loads to ensure they meet the wood specifications Monitor wood delivery load counts Ensure scale operations are in compliance with State regulations Troubleshoot and resolve scale issues as they arise Provide timely and accurate communication to the Fiber Supply team on any issues Perform chip and fiber fuel sampling as needed The Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge You Will Bring: Critical thinking – analyze situations and use logic to resolve problems Active listening – take time to understand, ask questions as appropriate, retain instructions provided, and be respectful Team player – collaborate and work cooperatively across a multi-functional team Comfortable working with computers Interpersonal skills – effectively interface with trucks drivers, mill personnel, and Fiber Supply Self-starter – ability to work independently without direct supervision Integrity and Trust High school diploma or equivalency required Industrial manufacturing or other labor intensive work experience is preferred (1 year) The Benefits You Will Enjoy: International Paper offers a benefits package that includes health, welfare and retirement plans including Medical, Dental, Life insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, Short-term and Long-term Disability, 401(k), Company-funded retirement contributions, Paid Time Off, Education & Development (including Tuition Reimbursement), Student Loan Repayment Assistance, and Voluntary Benefits including insurance for home, auto, vision and pets.
