Job Overview Hoxworth Blood Center (HBC), University of Cincinnati, was founded in 1938 and serves more than 30 hospitals in 18 counties in Southwestern Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Southeastern Indiana. Annually, Hoxworth collects more than 100,000 units of blood from local donors to help save the lives of patients in area hospitals. Hoxworth Blood Center: Saving Lives Close to Home. HBC is located within the College of Medicine and is the only Regional Blood Center owned and operated by a University in United States.

 
The Hoxworth Blood Center is recruiting a full-time (100% FTE) Research Scientist in the Division of Cellular Therapies. The incumbent will participate in the development and design of research projects, protocols and experiments on various topics. This position will support the University's mission and commitment to excellence in our students, faculty, staff, and all our activities.

Essential Functions Modify and adapt experimental protocols, techniques and procedures to specific project requirements.  Design, coordinate and conduct experimental procedures.  Prepare research results and written summaries of results in manuscript form for publications and in graphics form for presentation at research meetings and for grant proposals.  Maintain and ensure compliance with regulatory protocols and records. May submit research proposals as principal investigator for intramural/extramural funding. May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).  Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time. Required Education PhD and/or MD required.
