Position Description The University of Mississippi Libraries is seeking a flexible, service-oriented team player who is dedicated to supporting teaching and research initiatives while fostering a diverse and inclusive environment at an R1 research institution. Qualified librarians are invited to apply for the Research & Instruction Librarian and Assistant Professor position at the University of Mississippi Libraries in Oxford, MS. This is a full-time, tenure-track, 12-month faculty position reporting to the Head of Research & Instruction Services.

Responsibilities: Serves as a library liaison to the School of Applied Sciences to effectively maintain library collections, resources, and services that support the diverse departments' undergraduate and graduate research and instruction needs (Athletic Training; Communication Sciences and Disorders; Criminal Justice and Legal Studies; Health, Exercise Science and Recreation Management; Nutrition and Hospitality Management; Social Work) Collaborate with internal and external units to support the robust needs of graduate-level research in the applied sciences, including systematic reviews. Regularly provides research expertise to a diverse community of faculty, staff, students, and administrators. Uses advanced software and technology to enhance research support, create tutorials, reports, guides, presentations, and exhibits as needed. Teaches in-person and virtual workshops and classes for first-year students with a library team. Contribute to librarianship, research, and service at a level appropriate for a tenure-track faculty member of the university. Position Details Appointment: 12 Month

Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in library science from an ALA accredited program Familiarity with current and emerging trends in academic librarianship, specifically instruction and collection resources designed to support the areas of applied sciences. Experience working both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Ability to foster values of diversity and inclusion while working with a culturally diverse community. Demonstrate a commitment to pursuing professional development, research, and service at a level appropriate for promotion and tenure at the university. Excellent oral and written communication skills
Salary: $55,000/year and includes the university's competitive benefits package
