LEWP has an opening in our Production Department for a Quality Control Technician . The primary resource responsible for implementing the quality procedures, practices and policies established to meet the quality standards and expectation of customers. Continually monitoring products, processes and systems to assure that product quality and shipments meets applicable standards and customer expectations in an efficient manner.
Essential Job Functions Conduct inspections and testing as required by QC practices, procedures and policies to assure that product, including product labeling, packaging and traceability, meets industry standards [ASTM / NTPEP], and customer expectations. Inspect materials including incoming raw materials, product being manufactured, stored and shipped and processes throughout manufacturing operations. Sample, inspect, test, gather and analyze data, maintain appropriate and required records. Initiate corrective action. Monitor, audit, observe & take notice of issues that impact product quality. Monitor shift activities, schedules to anticipate and assure effective support of production and shipment resources. Help production workers understand that they have primary responsibility for producing quality product including appropriate completion of production records and tags. Assure trucks are loaded and unloaded with the correct material in a timely and safe manner. Utilize knowledge & experience to proactively suggest changes to processes, standards, procedures and policies. Participate in continuous improvement activities. Maintain required electronic and written documents in a readily open, accurate and organized manner. Communicate with the prior and next shift QC Technicians about quality related issues, schedules, etc. Attend meetings as necessary to review activities, issues and receive information. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications:
Minimum five years of experience in a manufacturing environment Prefer some college level courses including math and physical science. Associate degree in science, engineering, or technology accepted in place of 2 years manufacturing experience Strong commitment to follow and enforce standards, procedures, and policies Attention to detail and accuracy, a leader and advocate of quality work Must be able to comprehend, interpret, and utilize written standards. Examples would be ASTM, NTPEP, prints, policies, procedures, technical operating procedures, charts, and graphs. Must have good judgement to make decisions and take action in a timely manner with testing, sampling, process parameters, multiple issues with shipments, process conditions affecting quality and non-conforming materials and conditions furnished in observed, tested, written, oral, diagram, and schedule form. Experience using Microsoft office and business enterprise systems such as EPICOR Ability to follow-up to assure successful solutions, corrective action and communication of issues to appropriate production, engineering and management people and outside auditors Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
