Project Manager - Energy Audits and Building Assessments
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to conduct comprehensive energy usage assessments and building condition evaluations for our commercial clients across the nation. In this role, you will play a crucial part in helping our clients reduce their carbon footprint and increase energy efficiencies while ensuring the long-term performance and sustainability of their properties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site energy audits, ASHRAE audits, Property Condition Assessments (PCAs), and HVAC/Plumbing Assessments for commercial clients nationwide.
- Thoroughly assess existing building components and MEP systems through field investigations, testing, photo documentation, and interviews with site personnel.
- Coordinate and schedule project activities involving subcontractors and employee teams.
- Develop and present recommendations to clients for improving energy efficiency and implementing conservation measures.
- Write and review detailed energy assessment audit reports and property condition reports.
- Consult with clients to discuss audit findings and present recommendations for improvements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience conducting commercial building energy assessments OR equivalent experience in the installation and troubleshooting of commercial HVAC systems.
- Previous experience in construction, building-related inspections, or condition assessments.
- Proven track record in executing condition-related inspections for Mechanical and Plumbing Systems, Energy Auditing Services, and developing energy conservation measures, including payback calculations and energy modeling (preferred).
- Experience conducting Property Condition Assessments or Building Commissioning Audits is a plus.
- Preferred certifications: Certified Energy Auditor or Manager (CEA/CEM), Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Willingness and ability to travel nationally for client site visits, often requiring overnight stays and last-minute travel arrangements. Valid driver's license is required.
- Proficiency and experience with energy modeling software such as eQUEST, EPA Portfolio Manager (preferred).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with co-workers, clients, and subcontractors.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight while taking direction from Senior Managers.
- Capability to walk job sites, sometimes on uneven terrain, climb stairs and ladders, access flat roofs, and carry field testing equipment (up to 30 pounds) onto job sites as necessary.
