Job Title: Procurement Specialist
Job Overview:
As a procurement specialist, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services essential for the organization's operations. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements, identify suitable suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships to ensure the best value for the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Sourcing and Vendor Management:
Identify potential suppliers through market research and networking.
Evaluate supplier capabilities, including quality, reliability, and pricing.
Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms.
Manage supplier relationships and performance, including resolving disputes and evaluating supplier performance against agreed-upon metrics.
Procurement Process Management:
Coordinate the procurement process, including issuing requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for quotations (RFQs), and purchase orders.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulations and industry standards.
Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, contracts, and supplier information.
Continuously improve procurement processes to increase efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including departments such as finance, operations, and supply chain management, to understand their requirements and priorities.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on procurement activities, address concerns, and gather feedback.
Work cross-functionally to support strategic initiatives and goals related to procurement and supply chain management.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in a similar industry or role.
Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.
Additional Requirements:
Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management - CPSM) is a plus.
Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier visits, conferences, or training.
