The Preventative Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive, and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives. Duties:
Including but not limited to: Must lead by example in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, and discipline in the maintenance process. Monitor daily. Put corrective actions in place when needed. Develop and verify team members perform per expectations and standards. Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve plant safety, equipment performance, and product quality concerning equipment functionality. Ensure team members are following maintenance methods that improve equipment uptime and reliability. Works with other shifts to ensure proper pass down and pick up on work and repairs to finish in a timely manner. Identifies training, coaching, and encouragement opportunities for team members. Must operate with a sense of urgency and expect the same from all team members. Lead by example in all company core values listed below and operate with dignity and respect in interactions with all employees. Recognition Empowerment Development of our team Accountability Ownership Honesty and Integrity Safety Perform scheduled preventive maintenance functions to ensure equipment uptime and reliability. Some administrative functions to assist the Preventative Maintenance Supervisor as assigned. Assist with organizing and coordinating the preventive maintenance activities to repair and maintain production equipment. Identify potential failure modes and suggest solutions. Troubleshoot and use root cause analysis to solve problems at the cause. When temporary corrective actions are put in place to bring equipment back online to meet schedules, the leader will make plans with the Maintenance Supervisor to follow up to put permanent corrective actions in place in a timely manner. Captains safety for the preventative maintenance team and sets expectations of safe work performed in all functions, maintaining compliance to all LOTO, hot work, live work, overhead work, etc. safety programs. Identify safety concerns, address them on the spot, and notify proper parties. Ensure completion of assigned work and the timely completion of all assigned employees to the shift. Will improve the employee scope and quality of information through lessons learned and expect the same from all shift team members. Act as the first line of contact for the preventive maintenance department for any questions, concerns, or issues. Qualifications: High school diploma. Five plus years of experience in plant maintenance. Minimum 2-year technical degree Foundry experience Hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, mechanical or PLC Demonstrated organization, delegation, and team leadership ability. Ability to physically inspect plant properties where climbing steps, ladders and physical exertion is a primary responsibility. Must have strong knowledge of foundry equipment and maintenance processes to help improve equipment uptime and availability. Must have good mechanical aptitude, good communication and training skills. Must be self-motivated and able to work without detailed work instructions. Ability to hold all department employees accountable to meeting safety, quality, and performance metrics. Must be able to produce and sustain results that support company and departmental metrics. Strong root cause analysis. Must be able to pass knowledge to all department employees. Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language. Must establish and maintain high levels of responsiveness and credibility with employees. Must be able to drive excellent results while maintaining positive and effective relationships with peers and subordinates. Microsoft Office IQMS (ERP system) Working Conditions: Frequent exposure to foundry-like environment (high heat, dust, etc.)
